Would $5 Change Your Life?

by Kevin on April 12, 2008

Small changes can add up to major changes in your life. Along those lines, would $5 extra income per day make a difference to you? That’s $150-155 per month. Would that seriously change your life?

$150 would not drastically change my life, but I wouldn’t complain to have an extra $5 each day. I’d probably spend it on better this site (marketing, advertising, blog design, etc.). I would even be happy earning $20 every four days, if that is more feasible. As long as the average is $5, you’re still adding income.

How would you go about earning an extra five bucks today?

Some quick ideas:

  • Start a blog. Get popular. “Go viral.” Sell ads. Write sponsored posts.
  • Get a 2nd job. Bag groceries on the weekend.
  • Freelance. Consult. Make your services available and charge for them.

For some people $5 is the difference between meeting the minimums on debt and bankruptcy. For some, it’s the amount of interest they earned last week in their savings account. For others, its what they paid for a bagel and coffee on the way to work this morning.

What does $5 mean to you?

I have to say that $150 a month would make a difference in my budget. With a new and struggling business, every penny that I can bring in helps and either goes to pay bills or build the business up.

I don’t really know that it would change my life, as it were, but I wouldn’t say no to it. In fact, I’m working towards it everyday. Many little increases add up to large sums over time.
