It’s Hot

by Kevin on June 8, 2008

Temperatures are rising down here in the south. We hit mid 90’s yesterday with 65% humidity. I can cut out sections of the air with a butter knife.

We’ve definitely been enjoying our air conditioning since we get to use it in June. 78 degrees inside feels simply amazing!

Yesterday we took Maggie to the quad at the school I am getting my MBA (and that my wife is an alum of) and ran around for about 30-45 minutes. Throwing the frisbee, chasing the dog down with the stick in her mouth (bad dog), and going for a walk to see some of the new buildings. It really wore Maggie out — finally! We got a little bit of exercise and sun too, but I think the real benefit was the 5 pounds of sweat I lost.

We both commented that, gosh, it’s so hot… and it’s only the beginning of June. Can you imagine August?

I shudder to think of 103 degrees and 100% humidity. Kill me now. Kick on the air conditioner. I’m never wearing clothes again…

I hear ya. I work in an unconditioned building everyday and I swear by the end of this summer I’m going to be about 20 pounds litter from being in a sauna for about 12 hours a day. Its the best thing in the world to come home and take a look warm shower.
