A Few Things I’m Thankful For This Year

by Kevin on December 23, 2008

At Thanksgiving I challenged my readers to get some perspective on being thankful. Today with Christmas commotion, shopping trips galore, and crazy drivers all around us, I figured I had best give you my list of things I am thankful for.

And let me note, these are things I am thankful for year round — not just one day per year. I’m hoping I act how I feel in the coming year.

I am thankful…

  • for the beautiful, engaging, intelligent, loving, great cook my wife is
  • that we get to host both sets of our parents for Thanksgiving together
  • that we get to spend time in our mutual hometown for Christmas, thus being able to have Christmas with both parents without any fuss
  • that we have freedom, jobs, and a lovely home to live in
  • for my dog. She’s annoying sometimes, but the rest of the time I can’t help but think of how much more time I want to spend with her.
  • we have everything we need. We have great food, great shelter, and great home-filtered water. We have very nice clothes on our backs. All of our essential human needs are met (and then some).

…and of course, you, Mr. and Mrs. Reader. You read No Debt Plan. You subscribe, you comment, you come back. You are the reason I write. I hope you’ll be back soon. Get back to enjoying the holiday break with your family.
