Consumerism Commentary has an excellent post about choosing a life purpose.

Lifehacker has a great tip to get gift certificates to local restaurants from your local TV stations. There doesn’t seem to be a catch here. The TV station partners with a company to offer the gift cards at half price. I looked up several local stations and there were a couple of “$50 gift certificate for $25” offers that were all taken. More will be posted in the future. The kicker of course is the restaurants using the service may be limited so your favorite place may not use the service.

Single Guy Money is giving away a $100 gift card to either Target or Wal-Mart. All you have to do is stop by his blog and comment. (Of course you might as well subscribe as well, but it isn’t required.)

Dough Roller hosted the Festival of Frugality last week as well.

That post about discounted restaurant certificates damn near made me insane (no, not when you posted it, I actually saw it somewhere before Lifehacker picked it up). I tried and tried to find some combination that would reveal sweet, sweet discounts for my area – all I got was a wasted 10 minutes (which felt more like an hour than 10 minutes).
