I received a certified letter saying I owed the state. When all this time I thought I was getting a refund even when I still go to refund status website it says its being processed and I will receive a check in 8 to 12 weeks. When I called our local office he said they sent me 4 letters requested our W-2's..I said the only letter I ever got was this certified today. Apparently something off of our W-2 was entered wrong..but the incomes he gave me off mine didn't match my W-2. I have no idea what to do..no refund =( we owe money we didn't know about and we're getting charged late charges for something we knew nothing about.. Well no refund for me. It's not like they owe me a huge amount of money but they do owe it to me. If our politicians new what the hell they were doing none of us would have to wait - do you think they would wait on us to pay? No & they wouldn't give us months to pay it before interest began to kick in, they don't have to pay us any interest until after July 15th, I think they should pay interest as soon as they accepted my tax form.......... I was hoping to get it before I had to pay my federal. Seems I may have to come up with a backup plan. I file as Non resident because I live in MS and work in AL. I bet I am one of the last ones to get a refund. There are people where I work that live in AL and filed after me and they already have their returns.
